‘Get Kids Hooked On Fishing’ Event Drew Over 250 Families Hosted by Local Fisherman
Mokena, IL, August 8, 2017– Get Kids Hooked on Fishing drew over 250 families interested in teaching their kids about the sport of fishing. Local resident Kevin Miller, event host and avid fisherman, brought his knowledge and passion for the sport to the local community at Turtlehead Lake on July 30, 2017.
The event raised over five thousand dollars benefiting the Kids Fit Foundation, whose mission is to promote and fund programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body and St. Baldrick’s Foundation, with the aim of raising funds to help find cures for children with cancer.
I cannot be more ecstatic about the turnout and we succeeded in getting kids hooked on a great sport that teaches them determination, perseverance, patience, and respect,” Miller said. “I am also so proud to say that we raised awareness and over five thousand dollars for two great charities. Words cannot express the sense of accomplishment and appreciation I feel, and I want to thank all the sponsors to help make this event possible.
